3-5 YEAR OLD PROGRAM

Whilst the children are predominately learning together as a group, we have specific periods of the day dedicated to extending the older children. Our highly qualified early childhood teacher develops weekly programs based on the children’s interests and individual learning needs. These programs link closely to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Western Australian Kindergarten Guidelines. Throughout the year children aged 3-5 years of age will have many opportunities to develop skills to prepare them for school readiness. Our pre-kindy and kindy program will introduce and build on the fundamental skills to set children up for a successful first year at formalised schooling, as well as supporting and extending children that are already attending kindergarten.

We believe in teaching and learning through a play and inquiry-based curriculum. Children are constantly learning as they play and explore the environment and resources around them. Throughout the year your child will be exposed to several vital early learning topics and skills through hands-on, age appropriate and engaging learning experiences. Our environments are thoughtfully set up to reflect the current program and interests of the children.

The Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines have been developed in the knowledge that the Kindergarten year preceeds the Pre-primary year, the first year of compulsory schooling in Western Australia.

The focus of the Guidelines is on children's learning and development consistent with the emphasis in the EYLF.
